Cactus Search is a contact centre management recruitment specialist. Focused exclusively on managerial and specialist roles into the call and contact centre industry, the group specialises in sourcing the right calibre candidates to add value to company management teams. Part of the Network Group Plc, a £60million diversified group of 25 specialist recruitment companies, Cactus Search offers bespoke solutions to some of the largest organisations in the UK and Europe.
Six years ago the company appointed Avrion as its CRM solution provider and recently moved the system from on premise to a hosted version. Because of the sheer scale of the database – the group uses CRM extensively to enable good communications between clients and candidates – Cactus Search felt it was no longer able to host it in-house. “We have a very large database, and managing it in-house was becoming increasingly time-consuming,” says Cactus Search Managing Director Guy Masters. “Avrion have lifted the technical burden from our shoulders.
With Avrion hosting the database and taking care of back-ups, disaster recovery systems and so on, security concerns have also disappeared. “The whole thing is much more robust now,” says Guy.
The transition to a hosted system was trouble-free, taking just a couple of days and having a very minimal impact on business – impressive for such a very large database. “It was all very easy", says Guy. “Avrion were total professionals.” Plus, throughout the changeover, there was no loss of functionality, enabling staff to continue using email and mail merge facilities. Guy adds that while Avrion’s support service was equally impressive, Cactus Search really didn’t need to use it thanks to the smoothness of the changeover.
Guy says that the transition phase mirrored the pre-sales experience, which he describes as “very good indeed” with absolutely everything explained in clear, jargon-free terms. “They are really nice, approachable people and did exactly what they said they would do. Set-up was excellent – far too easy to be honest!”
Cactus Search are delighted with the new hosted system, from which they can access data from anywhere in the world. “It really proved itself during the recent snow disruptions because people were able to work from home and access the system as normal. Without that facility we would have lost very many man days of work.”
Guy describes the hosted server as “outstanding”, adding that it is actually far more cost-effective than keeping everything in-house. “We are able to expand or reduce user numbers as required and only ever have to pay for what we use. It’s enormously flexible and Avrion are brilliant to work with.”
