Hi, my name’s Izzie and I am writing this from the Avrion office in Hertford. You may think that just because I’m the Head of Marketing’s daughter, I will sugar-coat things. Well, don’t you worry because I’m sixteen years old, so I don’t have any trouble with brutal honesty, and I was forced to come here.
First Impressions
As soon as I entered the glowing doors of the office I felt very welcomed and comfortable helped by the relaxed environment. I sat down on the relaxing spinning chairs. Then I was whisked away to the meeting room where I joined a meeting with Jess Little (Marketing Executive) and Caroline Robertson (Head of Marketing). I found hearing about the projects intriguing as they collaborated excellently battling time frames and scheduling. They both constructed off each other’s plans throughout the near future. I tried keeping up while they talked about designing and social media but there was just too much going on!
We later finished and I headed back down to the main office where I talked to many of their colleagues about how they find working at Avrion. They all came to an agreed conclusion that Avrion’s unique style of management leads them to feel trusted with freedom of choice and makes a healthy and friendly environment. Having creative choice in marketing means they can sort priorities, be confident to attempt new things and have fun. I was told to say the last point by the way.
When I talked to the development team Chris said that he “enjoys that there is always something new and interesting” and thought Avrion as a whole had excellent communication. It is also felt that they are encouraged to work hard but in a supportive way.
If you didn’t know, Jon is very generous and for Christmas he takes the company to many different places including Center Parcs, which I definitely enjoy. The consensus is that it’s nice to understand the personal side of who you work with – in this case it means all of the families bonding there through group meals and adventurous activities. Many of the adults of the group persevered through the towering treetop adventure and courageously went down the zipline, this resulted in a boost of confidence and security in a team building, comical experience.
Words of Wisdom
To delve even deeper into the Avrion experience and get more insight on the mindset, I set everyone a task of presenting words of wisdom:
Nick: Failure is a state of mind, and always carry an umbrella.
Rob: Never stops being a student, and it is better to be consistently good than occasionally great.
David: Don’t go to work on an empty stomach.
Caroline: If you don’t ask, you don’t get.
Harish: If you’re not paying any tax you’re not making any money.
Harry: If you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything.
Matin: Do what you love and enjoy the process.
Jess: Follow your heart.
Chris: Always be open to learning from others because there is always something more to gain.
Sam: Don’t stay in a job you don’t like.
Susan: Take one day at a time.
Last but definitely not least Jon: A good attitude is king, and the more you spend the more you make (and skibidi).
and that’s an inside and honest view on Avrion. Hope you enjoyed this amazing blog.
